Florida and Michigan sound like cry-babies

March 6th, 2008 · 2 Comments

Just read this. Let me get this straight.  They decided to hold their primaries early in order to protest other states moving their dates up, thus violating national party rules.  Now that the race is closer than people expected, they want to do it over so that their votes actually count.  Naturally, the Monica Lewinski’s ex-boyfriend’s wife’s supporters are all in favor of a redo so that their candidate can get more votes.  I don’t see how this can really happen.  They made the choice to have the primary early and now they realize it was a dumb idea.  What a waste of money if it does.  I’m guessing there is no precedent for this.  If anyone knows of such an event, let me know.

If these votes are re-done, Then Obama’s line should be something like this:
“I think Florida and Michigan voters stood up for themselves by hosting early primaries. They were attempting to drive home a point and I believe that they’ve done so. I don’t believe we should change party primary rules, as Mr. Dean has stated, and trying to do so now with a mock-primary would only weaken the point that the voters of both states were attempting to make while also throwing the voting process into turmoil. Therefore I urge all voters, supporters of mine or not, to boycott these so-called primaries as my supporters did earlier this year.”

Done. Now he has an excuse for “losing” the fake primaries. And remember that these primaries are not binding – delegates can and do vote as they want.
Besides, I personally agree with the protests that Michigan and Florida made. The primary process is out of control and they were trying to bring that to light.
