50k IS a lot of running

It’s true.  Tomorrow morning I’ll be toeing the line at the Trail Mix 50k at 7am.  This will be my first ultramarathon, that being anything longer than a marathon.  That’s 31 miles for those of you not familiar with the metric system.  I ran the 25k there last year, which was only 2 of the 7.75 mile loops.  I finished that in 2 hours and change and I’m hoping tomorrow will be under 4:30.  I haven’t done that much running as of late.  The farthest I’ve run in the past 3 months is just under 16 miles, but I did run the Huntsville marathon in December.  I remind myself that the first marathon I ran back in 2001 my longest run was 8 miles and I still finished.  So I should be able to finish this tomorrow.  It’s just a matter of what state I’ll be in afterwards.  The goal is to still be walking.  Hopefully, an update will follow on Monday.

Good luck, and I hope to God that is a picture of you.
